One more Time..

one more time..my heart was racing
one more time I dug..no pacing
clawing clawing at the earth
almost see your weightless girth
one more time..those little feet
one more time..I want to meet
..and there you were
3 feet under in the deep
the little soul I could not keep
one more time the soft black fur
one imaginary purr
Just one more moment..one last time
Another second you were mine
A second never felt so long
time stood still though you were gone
scooped you up in plastic bags
cleaned the dirt with gentle rags
to the vet to turn you in
the road to ashes you begin
one more time these eyes wont dry
one more time to say goodbye

I'm glad..I had one more time..
